Joanell is a southern California artist focused on working in fabric. She dyes, stamps, pieces, quilts, stencils, digitally prints on, and embellishes fabric. A silk painting class 20 years ago led to a successful career as a wearable and art quilt artist. A love of colors - bright, contrasting, and competitive - defines her style. Words are often an integral part of her more personal work.
As a Fairfield and Bernina designer, her wearable artwork can be seen in several books and magazines. As an art quilter, she has participated in national and international juried shows, including the Husqvarna Viking Masterpiece show.
