Workshops by Sue Beevers
Workshops by Sue Beevers
The last 30-plus years of Sue Beevers' life have been spent immersed in the fiber world, first as a spinner, weaver, and dyer, and now as a fabric painter and quilter. She travels extensively, giving lectures and workshops throughout the US and at major fiber conferences. Many of Sue's pieces have been framed as works of art and featured in collections internationally. Other artists use Sue's painted fabrics to express their own, sometimes very different, design visions, an extension that Sue finds fascinating. Sue is author of Off-the-Shelf Fabric Painting, which demonstrates her renowned fabric painting techniques. The book was one of C&T Publishing's best-selling titles!

Starry, Starry Night
Starry, Starry Night
This workshop, which has been designed with an intermediate student in mind, will introduce students to the amazing possibilities offered by using cotton, silk and velvet fabrics together in a contemporary quilt. It is planned to take place over two successive days, six hours each day. This gives participants an opportunity to sample the concepts discussed.

The workshop can easily be expanded to three or more days, allowing for students to plan and begin their own quilt.

Designing Geometric Patterns with
Cotton, Silk, and Velvet
Simple geometric shapes, such as circles, squares and rectangles can be combined with lines to create amazing patterns for quilts. These patterns can then be executed using any piecing, appliqué, or machine thread embroidery technique. Students will use these shapes while exploring basic design principles through a series of exercises.
